D&M Home Inspections

Is it Canary Yellow or Harvest Gold? Look at the size of that sink, and as you can see, wallpaper was still very much in style.

Everything in this kitchen still works. I did have to write up two issues. There are no GFCI receptacles, and the floor is asbestos. So why is it a problem? They are both considered safety concerns. However, that floor is in mint condition. My advice is if you want to keep it, do not sand it, strip it, or use a scratchpad on it. Otherwise, just lay another floor over it.

As for the GFCI, just have one installed.

From an Inspector’s standpoint, this kitchen is in better condition than other modern stainless steel varieties I have inspected. A dishwasher is a dishwasher, a stove is a stove and a refrigerator is a refrigerator.

You usually get what you pay for. When stainless came out in the late 1980s, they were mostly high-end appliances. Of course, the style was copied and many inferior appliances were produced and dressed up with stainless steel finishes.
